Born in 1976 in Torre del Greco, Carlo Mennella is the son of an artisan who offered his craftsmanship on commission. Carlo trained at the State Institute of Art in Torre del Greco, where he acquired the technical skills necessary to become an artisan and goldsmith. During his school years, Carlo increasingly got closer to his father’s activity, starting to practice the goldsmith trade right after graduating.
The tradition of goldsmith craftsmanship is deeply rooted in the Mennella family. Nunzio, Carlo’s father and first educator, embarked on the trade from childhood, following in the footsteps of a maternal uncle and founding his own company in 1972. This path of training, based on ancient roots, natural aptitude, learning, hard work, and field experience, allowed Carlo to open his own studio, where he could fully express his intense artistic and creative potential.
In 2007, the Fantasy Coral brand was born, a name that directly refers to the peculiar craft activity of coral working, an essential element and pride of the city of Torre del Greco. Confrontation with the market has been an essential tool for the growth and spread of the brand. Participation in numerous international fairs, such as MACEF (Milan), Tour del Gioiello (Taormina), and CHIBIMART (Milan), has helped to build customer loyalty not only in Italy but also abroad.
Gold, silver, cameos, and coral are the raw materials from which Carlo creates precious objects. These materials represent the starting point for the artist’s innovative and traditional creations, who places no limits on the choice of stones and metals used. Carlo’s creative process is an elaboration that combines classical and avant-garde elements, renewing itself every year. This process finds its concrete realization in the summer, when, along with the blooming of nature, a new generation of art objects comes to life.
